Sydnee, Brianna and Katie
Paragraph about Sydnee:
While first meeting Sydnee, I automatically could tell that she was a kind, easy going girl. She gives off such a positive and welcoming energy that talking to her felt natural and effortless.
The 3 of us were able to open up and talk like we had just been old friends catching up.
Sydnee lives in Central Jersey in an area that I am familiar with owing to the fact that I have a handful of relatives who live in and around there. She talked highly about her siblings and you could tell by the way she talked about them she loves her family so deeply and truly appreciates them. This helped me understand who she was more and helped us grow a friendship.
She also had informed me that she was an Elementary Education Major, the same major as mine. I got excited to hear this because I know I have a familiar face when I see her in any classes. Through the time talking to Sydnee it was easy to see how much of a genuinely caring person she was. As we told personal stories and got to know each other better, you could see the interest she showed in actually wanting to get to know who we were as people by asking questions based off the stories we were disclosing.
I am very happy I got the opportunity to meet and get to know who Sydnee really was and I am excited for getting to learn more and more about her as the semester continues.
Paragraph about Brianna:
From the very moment I started talking to Brianna I felt her warm and compassionate presence. She was eager to get to know each of the members in our group and was genuinely interested in discovering more about our lives. Although I have only known Brianna for a couple of days, I foresee myself learning more and more interesting tidbits about her life as the semester progresses.
Brianna is from a town close to the center of Philadelphia and shared how she likes to investigate the ins and outs of all that the city has to offer. Although Brianna has a tranquil, gentle presence, she is a curious person and likes to explore the world around her, which relates to her experiences in Philadelphia. She mentioned how she has a fondness for discovering tiny, discrete stores around the city she has never been into before with interesting merchandise.
Brianna is a fashion major and this is no surprise because she has come to class everyday with the most fashionable outfits and trendy accessories. Brianna has a younger sister in the eighth grade, who she serves as a role model to in many ways. Brianna shared how her younger sister would participate in plays at school with her even though they are about five years apart! Her sister is eager to enter high school and share the same experiences that her older sister once encountered.
From the stories and experiences Brianna has shared with me thus far, she seems like an inspiring older sister, a devoted friend, and an inquisitive explorer. I’m excited to get to know more about her and am thankful for the start of a promising new friendship!
Paragraph about Katie:
Despite having only met Katie a few days ago, I can already see that she is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Talking with her felt so natural and I found myself sharing details about my life that I haven’t shared with many people. Even though I have only known her a short while, Katie is someone I could easily see myself being friends with for a long time as it becomes clear the moment you meet her that she is a fun-loving, empathetic, and genuine person. Katie’s bubbly and warm energy is contagious and welcoming and makes you feel as though everything is alright with the world.
Katie is a very smart girl who knows how to keep her wits about her and trusts her instincts in situations where others may not. It seems that she may have learned this trick from her older brother, Michael, who also graduated from the University of Delaware. From her stories, he also seems to be someone who trusts his gut and knows how to handle himself in situations where others would falter.
Katie is an elementary education major and plans on becoming a teacher, which is perfect because she is an incredibly sweet and compassionate person who would make an absolutely wonderful educator and mentor. Not only did she listen intently to what Sydnee and I had to say, but it was clear that what we said truly mattered to her and she genuinely wanted to hear and learn more about our lives. She even contributed some similar stories of her own!
I am very happy that I was given the opportunity to meet and get to know Katie and I am very excited to continue to get to know her as the semester continues!
