Vienna’s narrative on Noel

While first talking to Noel I found him very shy and timid. On the second day we discussed zodiac signs. Noel said he was a Taurus. Characteristics of someone who possesses the Taurus zodiac sign are patient, stable, logical, and practical.
After spending two days speaking to Noel I have come to find him to be all of these traits.  The first big questions college students tend to ask someone while getting to know them is, where are you from and what’s your major. Noel is from Newark and is a computer engineer major. I connected both of these things with his zodiac sign. Taurus is an earth sign, meaning they like to put roots in the ground. It made sense to see that Noel decided to stay close to home and go to college. He also picked a reliable and practical future career.
The one characteristic I really liked about Noelle was that he had lots of compassion. He told the group about his three bunnies that he used to have and how much he missed them. While indulging in the conversation about his bunnies you could hear the love he had for animals. Noel was very patient while we talked. He always waited to speak and made sure everyone else had a turn to express their thoughts. I think Noel would be a great friend for anyone to have.

Noel’s narrative on Abby

Getting to know Abby was one of the best things that has happened since the beginning of this semester. Our conversations started as all would, asking questions of common interests and background. Abby came from Pennsylvania with a major in biology and a minor in dance. One of the major things that I found about Abby was her passion for zodiac signs. From the moment it was brought up, there was an instant connection between Abby and Vienna. They spoke about their sun and moon signs as well as what their horoscopes said for the day. As the conversation continued, I discovered that she had a common interest as I do in coffee and sewing which delighted me greatly. When the topic of animals came up, her face lit up like a star. Her love for pets was immediately picked up when she started talking about her opinion on certain animals and insects as pets. From snakes to spiders, it was interesting how many similar opinions we had. Through this, Abby also shared her experience with horse riding but stopped because she was busy with dance classes, which gave me a signal of why she has a minor in dancing. From the discovery of Abby’s similar tastes and enjoyable plus vibrant personality, I am very happy to have met Abby and think that she would be a fantastic friend to anyone.

Abby’s Narrative on Vienna

We all have our tells; an action or behavior we exhibit when we are lying, uncomfortable, or simply bored. Some people bounce their leg beneath a desk on particularly slow days. Others twirl their hair around an index finger when confronted with nerve-wracking questions. For Vienna, it’s the heart-shaped ring she twists up and down the thumb of her left hand throughout class. With nail-bitten fingers, the lacrosse player spins the loop of metal and doodles across a piece of paper reserved for notes, taking care to include everyone in our conversation.

It is revealed overtime that she, like I, has an affinity for astrology. We discuss our daily horoscopes and when I mention that I am a Libra, she nods with understanding, commenting that that must be the reason we get along so well. I cannot help but agree. I go on to learn that Vienna is just as ambitious as she is personable, having not only taken initiative in her home town of Lewes, Delaware to run a beach-clean up chapter, but also kickstart her own business in t-shirt design and printing. She even produces bootleg UD gear, though she swears she would never sell it.

With a preference for tea over coffee and the simple white rose as her favorite flower, it is apparent my classmate is down-to-earth and a great conversationalist. She, along with Noel and I,  found herself engaging in wild stories of exes who make us mixtapes and elephant drawings with birthday hats for “pazazz.” There is no question that the three of us got along well, and I am glad to have met Vienna. Her name just as unique as her personality, she was the perfect addition to our rag-tag trio of Blue Hens.
