This assignment wasn’t hard, it actually made me think about pretty much everything. I sat in my bed and had my phone and computer sitting on my nightstand not being used. I was under my covers looking up at the wall and the pictures and decorations that me and my roommate have been consistently putting up throughout the school year.
I started thinking about how I got here; how I got to college and what it took me to get into college. My SATs, past midterms and finals, volunteering and whatnot all helped me get into The University of Delaware. Then I started to think about what would have happened if I didn’t go to college, where I would have lived or what I have done to make it on my own. My brain went in so many directions when this came to mind because of the endless possibilities where I could have ended up. As I started drifting off in my thoughts, my mind eventually ended up wondering about how to rearrange my room. I imagined my dorm room with a bigger bed, more space, different color dressers and desks. This thought ended early because my short term dream wasn’t possible because I knew that I didn’t have either the resources nor money to do so.
I found myself continuing to think about the most random things. This caused me to not even think about picking up my phone and answering texts or social media notifications. I enjoyed this assignment because it forced me to relax and to think about my life, feelings and actions all in 15 minutes.
