When I was younger, my parents would always tell me stories of their relationship when they first started dating. They would go on Taco Bell dates mainly and the basic date night at the movies, but the one that they loved the most was people watching. They would go to the mall in Scottsdale Arizona and just sit on a bench near the main stores and just watch people. They would tell me that they loved it because they would see all kinds of people. So I learned from them that it’s relaxing to sit and watch people and to learn people by their hand movements, body language, and by the way that they dress.
The person I watched was my roommate, Logan. We were sitting in our room after our busy day of classes on Thursday. She always lays in her bed with her comeback facing me and always has her phone in her hand. From the sound coming from her favorite Netflix show and the overlapping sound from her other obsession, Tik Tok. I can tell that this is what she enjoys doing this after but I’ve also noticed that she consistently gets so excited over a certain 6 second video that she jumps out of bed and runs about 5 feet to my bed just to share the video that made her laugh. As the video plays I can see her eyes look at my eyes just to see if I am enjoying the Tik Tok just as much as she was.
Logan is an amazing person who I over the time “watched” my roommate try to interest me in things that she genuinely enjoys. I love her for this and it is the main reason why we have grown to become best friends
