Imagining a future scenario for myself will certainly not guarantee anything to actually come true. I have never been able to give solid responses when people ask me questions like “What do you want to be when you grow up?” or “Where do you see yourself in the future?” However, there are some things I have a pretty clear vision of in the next three years or so. Because I know it’s important to think about my future, I want to challenge myself by roughly predicting what my life will be like at this time come senior year of college.

By that time I will obviously have my major selected and hopefully be on track to graduate in the spring of 2023. I imagine college life being vastly different from how it is now because I will be living in my own apartment and cooking my own meals every day. With the first three years of college behind me, I will also have a wider circle of friends and acquaintances here at UD.

As for life outside of college, I expect my band to be playing gigs often enough for me to finally consider it to be a job. The good news is that if the band goes under I will probably have found new bandmates at UD. I guess one thing that I don’t really have to predict is that I’ll still be playing music in some way, shape, or form.

In three years, I don’t foresee any dramatic changes to my household and family. My mom will still be an empty-nester, just her and the cat, who I’m sure will have gained a few more pounds by that time. She’s not gonna lose any, that’s for sure. I can imagine my sister working at a hospital as a nurse and living in New York City. And perhaps my older brother will be married by then. Judging by how well his time with IBM has gone so far, I think he’ll still be working for them and have enough money to start a family. Who knows? If I decide to work there too, there just might be a chance that he’ll be my boss. Now if that comes true, I really hope this blog post will still be saved.
