Rewinding back to the beginning of my senior year of highschool when I had to pick my senior quote; I must have had a list of at twenty five quotes. I was not sure if I wanted it to be either funny, relatable or sentimental to help summarize my whole highschool career. After having conversations with my friends and family about it, I took their advice and went with the quote that I say the most. “I’m here for a good time, not a long time,” said George Strait, one of my favorite country singers.
My cousin, Warren, was the first person that I heard it from. We were at my family’s cabin up in Hayward, Wisconsin and he said that to me as I was stepping my feet into the water skis. I didn’t think much of it but after the long day on the water, it actually stuck in my mind ever since. Everytime I think about doing something that is either scary or risky I always think of George Strait and my daredevil cousin, Warren.
Without even realizing, I picked one of the most important quotes that I will likely follow for the rest of my life. I hope to see myself live to the fullest with an open mind in the future. I also hope to see myself helping people around the world get the things that they need to survive. In order to get to this point, I need to finish school, invest money into stocks, and continue to be healthy. Once I’ve settled down (before having children), I can see myself going on mission trips and writing about my experiences through blogging and fundraising. The reason why I want to do this is because I enjoy helping others out and I love trying to make a difference. My attitude and perspective on life, in my option, is on the right track for my dream to become a reality. As long as I can keep my head up, believe in God, and remember what is important to be, I truly believe that in 10 years I can look back on this assignment and be proud of myself. It all comes back to by senior quote, you never know when your last day is so live your life how you would dream it would be.
