When I think about something that changed my perspective on life, the most substantial thing that I can think about is college. I used to think college was just about stress and learning and that was it. But the transition from high school to college changed my whole perspective on life.

High school was not very nice to me. Like many other people, I was treated like I was less then. I would be looked down on by the “popular girls” and I never seemed to fit in anywhere. My friendships in high school never lasted very long. High school girls have very short attention spans and when something, or someone in this case, gets boring, they would walk away. Thats what happened to me. When my “friends” decided that I wasn’t enough for them anymore, they moved on to the next friend group, leaving me behind. This worried me for the future. What if my life will always be like this? People never giving me a change. But its not.

When I got to college, everything changed. There is no such thing as “popular” in college. There’s way too many people here for that. In college, people don’t, usually, think of you as less then, because they don’t know you. People in college give you a change to be who you actually are.

People only are what you make them . Those “popular girls” in high school were only popular because thats what you call them. That’s not what real life is. Real life is everyone on the same level fighting to survive in a small world. College made me realize that high school really isn’t forever.
