I rarely go outside
but when I do, I look at the tree.
Every year, around the same time
It blooms pink flowers instead of leaves
This year, though,
its taken much more time to bloom
And I sit and wait at the window in my bedroom
Ive never really noticed the three until this year
Because what else do I have to do
But this tree represents the world right now
It’s paused until the world resumes
The last Three lines are crazy good. The poem from the start was great at introducing a scene that most of us are familiar with(blooming trees) but i hadent thought of the timeline before this poem. How by now most trees have either blossomed or already have leaves but this year its all delayed and i am just seeing blooming trees until now. The trees are taking a pause with the wolrd and you could even think that they are waiting for us to be able to go outside so they can show off their flowers.

This is quite the sign of our times; it seems that a lot of us are becoming more aware of our surroundings, even aspects that have been there for years, as a result of this quarantine. Even the fact that your tree is also moving at a slower pace than usual in terms of growth and blossoming is indicative of where most of us are right now. We’re being forced into a situation that does not allow us to flourish as we usually would. Great poem
