I keep doing the same routine every day
My hometown is closed down
I don’t have much to say
I do know I can’t wait for a cure to be found
The beaches don’t open up again until May
Until then I’ll have to stand my ground
But soon I’ll be able to run to the bay
As of now all I’ve done is frowned
It’s time for everyone to pray
Close your eyes and don’t make a sound
So we can go back outside to play
We will make a rebound
I liked how your poem showed that you have a deep connection to the outdoors. The line “As of now all I’ve done is frowned” made me laugh because I too am in a very depressed mood. I also enjoyed the line”Close your eyes and don’t make a sound”. I liked how you gave this situation a dream like illusion, that we will wake up and be back to normal.

I enjoyed reading your poem because I think it is something that most of our class can probably relate too. You described the feeling of being fed up with siting inside and doing the same thing each day which is exactly how I feel. I also liked how you said that it’s going to take everyone “So we can go back outside and play.” I agree that we will rebound from this dark time when it is over.

I loved this poem because it shows how real it is. It tells us that we can not do much since we basically just have to wait this out. And until then we have to pray as a whole world. My favorite line was, “close your eyes and don’t make a sound.” So that maybe others will have the same mindset and stay home.
