There she stood, all by herself. She was tall, a lot taller than all the others. Her long, elegant yellow petals dangled towards the ground. Yet, here stem stood tall. She was proud. She was proud to be different. She was living her best life, and nobody could stop that.
Her name was Michelle. Michelle grew up in a yard where everyone else was the same. She stood apart from the group as she shared nothing in common with them. They all were a mix of whites, reds, and purples. They didn’t grow to tall either. Michelle stood to the side of them. She was bright yellow, noticeably different to the common eye. At about 10 inches tall, she looked down on all the others. When she looked at them, they were all staring back, directly at her. She just didn’t fit in.
Instead of questioning her existence and letting her differences define her, she took it upon herself to be the best version of herself. She opened up each morning at sunrise to enjoy each hour of sunlight she was given. She was inviting to the bees, welcoming them with open petals as they would come and go. This spring, Michelle wasn’t going to let the other flowers stop her from being herself. She was determined to make the most out of her life.

I really like your introduction. My favorite sentence in your introduction is, “Her long, elegant yellow petals dangled towards the ground.” Your sentences were very descriptive and I felt like I could see the flower, without looking at the picture. I also like how you said, ” She was proud. She was proud to be different.”

I absolutely love how you personified the flower, especially that the flower embraced her differences and stood proud in all that she was. It felt almost as if I was reading not about a flower but an actual person, and so much can be said about the usual insecurities and shyness that accompanies uniqueness. Choosing to write about embracing these differences was a great positive take on things
