When exploring a nearby forest, I noticed something interesting. There was a patch of dead wildflowers, but within that patch there was life: a small white flower. I continued to observe the dead patch until I came to a new patch. This patch however, was full of life and contained an abundance of the same white flower that I had seen earlier… Out of that death, came life. Something about that just gave me a little boost of hope for the times we’re living in.
HOPE
Despite all our differences, there’s one thing that we all crave:
Hope
Hope is what we crave and that will never change
Sometimes we feel like we’ve been pushed to our limits
“I can’t go on, I can’t keep living like this.”
These words will ring loud and clear in our heads
But we must still hang on to that hope
That hope that the pain will go away
That hope that you will get that job
That hope that one day, you’ll rise to the top
And everything will be ok
Right now, we look up and all we see is darkness
We all feel as if we’re stuck in a perpetual tunnel
Without the dimmest of lights to accompany us
I assure you that things will get better
But they will get worse first
Never let go of that hope
Hope is what we crave
Hope is what we need

This poem is beautiful. I really liked the last two lines. “Hope is what we crave. Hope is what we need.” I also thought your use of repetition really brought this poem together.
I also really enjoyed reading about the experience and inner monologue you had while in the forest taking the picture. The thoughts relate to the situation surrounding us while being unique to you.

This poem is amazing. Your poem is very inspirational and well thought out. My favorite line from this poem is, “Hope is what we crave and that will never change.” Sometimes people lose hope and that is a scary thing to lose. I really think if someone is feeling down, they could read your poem and they would feel totally different after.

This poem was really nice. I enjoyed how you used the word “hope” repeatedly. In our current situation, everyone is looking for hope. I especially liked your lines “Hope is what we crave. Hope is what we need”. This got me thinking that often times things we crave are not necessities. But currently without hope we would be lifeless. Overall nice poem!
