To my Dearest Friend and Travel Bestie Abby,
Hey you!! I miss you like crazy. I seriously can’t believe that I have relocated with my family during a national pandemic. On top of that, I’m too many miles away from my best friend! How did we only become friends senior year of high school when we went to the same middle school together too?? I object! I wish we met each other much sooner. It sure doesn’t feel like we’ve known each other for just two years though. Right off the bat, we acted like we’ve known each other for much longer than two years!
I thank our Humanities trip abroad for bringing us together. We got to be roommates and eventually came up with our name of the Travel Bffs. We traveled to Italy and Greece! We saw the Colosseum of Rome and the Acropolis of Athens. How crazy! So it was only fitting that the coming summer we traveled to Las Vegas together with my family. Although it smelled of cigarettes with every step and we weren’t 21 lol we still had an amazing time. We even hiked Zion National Park! Our most recent trip together was to the happiest place on earth! Although, we didn’t think it was the happiest as we saw many youths crying. It was still a lot of fun! Since I’m living in Florida now, Disney is just a quick trip away.
I am incredibly thankful to have met you. It’s a comedy show every time we are together. I miss you and can’t wait for you to come and visit me down south once we are free from quarantine! I was sick of my phone before quarantine, so don’t be discouraged if my communication skills are even worse now. You know I would always let my phone die and be hesitant to charge it back up haha. Regardless of my poor communication skills, when we are together we always go right back to where we left off. Alexa, play Home by Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros.
So where should the Travel Bffs go next?
With love,
Travel Bff Emily
I liked how you took the time in your writing to say “Im incredibly thankful to have met you”. A simple sentence can show someone how much you care. I also like how you said “I wish we met each other sooner”. This goes to show that some things in life are worth waiting for. Now you look back and wish you had it sooner. Overall, nice letter.

While reading the first paragraph I was able to connect right away. I had a very natural feel and I could’ve pictured my best friend writing this to me. The line “ It’s a comedy show every time we are together” was my favorite part of this writing. Keep a clear aspect into your friendship and showed that you are close to each other. I liked how you talked about the trips that you had already gone on and off so hinted at a future trip to Disney. It shows how close you are with your best friend. The name Travel BFF’s fits to a tee.

The overall mood of your writing was extremely joyful and excited, speaking to how you feel when you are with your Travel BFF. It is easy to see the impact and joy in the air when you two are together. I liked how you recalled your past experienced with one another and how fun they were, and the future trips you plan to take. I also enjoyed your subtle exclamatory sentences such as, “I object!” and “How crazy!” as they add to the overall piece very well.
