I yearn to feel the warm summer air,

To feel salty wind blow through my hair,

To look up at the sky and see,

This plague has been lifted from us, now we are free.

I wish this time had come already,

But the pattern of the virus seems to be steady,

We have a lot more healing to do,

But we will flatten the curve, I know it’s true.

And when all of this is said and done,

I will never again take for granted a loved one,

I will cherish the ones I hold dear,

And never let the love disappear.

I yearn for life to return as usual,

Social distancing has me going delusional,

I yearn for social interaction,

I welcome any simple distraction.

Coronavirus will end.
